Saturday, April 7, 2007:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Tony Novak of Karnack; John & Cindy Bartos of Houston; Mary Alice Oatman of Jefferson; Mary Keasler of Jefferson; Ann Derby of Sugarland; Carolyn Boyd of Plano; Carole Ann Boyd of Dallas; Barbara Hudson of Dallas; Dean & Candy Delleney of Georgetown; Landry, Piper & Paxton Lockett of MeKinney; and John Owings of Uncertain.  

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 37º F and the afternoon high was 49º F.  It was cloudy with a breeze out of the north.

Number of Nets:  Fourteen (14)

 

Time:  We started putting up nets at 8:30 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:45 p.m.

Saturday, April 14, 2007:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson and Tony Novak of Karnack.

 

Weather Conditions:  The high temperature was 52º F (in the morning) and the low was 49º F (in the afternoon) with cloudy skies and wind gusting from the north as a cold front pushed through.  It rained 0.25" the night before.
 

Number of Nets:  Fourteen (14)

 

Time:  We started putting up nets at 9:15 a.m. and all nets were closed by 3:45 p.m. CDST.

 

Next Banding Dates:  Saturday, April 28, and Saturday, May 5, weather permitting.  May 5 will probably be our last bird banding day for the season, and we will resume banding again in the fall.  Watch our bird-banding home page or check with Tom Walker [E-mail: twalkercaddolake(at)gmail.com] for the latest information.

Saturday, April 28, 2007:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Jim & Jan Gensler of Jefferson; Dickey & Carolyn Luce of Mooringsport, LA; Stephen & Karen Chambers with daughters Brigette & Samantha, all of Dallas; Ron Munden of Marshall; Phyllis Bailey of Karnack; and Breanna Horak of Longview. 

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 53º F and the afternoon high was 81º F.  The sky was cloudy in the morning and partly cloudy by afternoon.  No wind.
 

Number of Nets:  Fourteen (14) 

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 8:45 a.m. and they were closed by 5:15 p.m.
