Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, April 4, 2015:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Addison Stacy of Longview; Jerry, Sharon & Angel Alexander of Longview; Darrell Hudson of Carthage; Scott Campbell of Longview; Clifton, Raven & Kyle Trusty of Linden; John & Cindy Bartos of Houston; Mike Weber of Jefferson; Celia Hancock of Texarkana; Lydia Clark of Texarkana; Charles Steger of Atlanta, Texas; Anita Walker of Avinger; Kevin, Sylvia, Laura & Caroline Hurd of Shreveport; Marla Stanley of Marshall; Ali King of Marshall; Mary Dorris of Tyler; Diane Jones of Jonesville; Ron Munden of Marshall. 

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 48º and the afternoon high was 65º F.  The sky was mostly clear, with an occasional strong breeze. 


Number of Nets:  Eleven (11)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 8:30 a.m., and all nets were closed by 5:15 p.m.  

 

Next Banding Date:  Our next bird banding dates are Saturday, April 18 and Saturday, May 2, weather permitting.  After May 2 our summer recess begins.
