Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, December 29, 2012:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Heather, Zoe, and Misty Harris of Birmingham, Alabama; Nadine Pope of Marshall; John Horton of Queen City, Texas; Susan Moore of Queen City; Hollis Shadden of Jefferson; Liz Hendrix of Shreveport; Jerome & Amanda Lewis and daughters Mali and Mena of Shreveport; Darrell Hudson and daughters Amelia and Julia of Carthage; Susan Turner and daughter Patte of Uncertain; Lee & Deborah Layman of Kilgore; Charles Steger of Atlanta, TX; Phyllis Wilson of Longview; Robert Carter of Marshall; and Donna Schultz of Washington, Pennsylvania.

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 26º F and the afternoon high was 45º F.  The sky was mostly sunny with a few thin high clouds.  There was a small breeze in the morning, but the wind was mostly calm by afternoon.


Number of Nets:  Eleven (11)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 9:00 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:00 p.m.
