Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, December 28, 2013:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Sandra Hooker of Marshall; Sandi Smith & her son Chance of Stanley, LA; Beth Honea & her son Nat of DeBerry, LA; David McCain of Longview; Phyllis Wilson of Longview; Casey & Sally Lockett of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Katie Allred of Marshall; Jerome & Amanda Lewis and their children, Mali & Mena of Shreveport; Nadine Pope & her grandchildren, Darby & OJ of Marshall; Ron & Carolyn Bova of Quitman; Liz Hendrix of Shreveport.

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 37 F and the afternoon high was 57 F It was cloudy most of the day but cleared by late afternoon.  Winds were calm.  


Number of Nets:  Eleven (11)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 9:15 a.m., and all nets were closed by 4:30 pm.
