Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, December 10, 2016:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Mike Weber of Jefferson; Roger Geiger of Avinger; Pete Wright of Marshall; Keith & Lorraine Cherry of Atlanta, Texas; Mickie Moore of Jefferson; Pam Watts of Jefferson; Floyd & Ellen Anderson of Marshall; Diane Jones of Jonesville; Linda Richtsmeier of Marshall; and Ron Munden of Marshall.

 

Weather Conditions:  The low temperature was 31 F and the high was 48 F.  The sky was overcast for most of the day except for a brief period of sunshine in late morning.  A light breeze was from the southeast. 


Number of Nets:  Eleven (11)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 8:15 a.m. and all nets were closed by 3:30 p.m.
