Saturday, February 25, 2012:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Helen Hogle -- Jefferson; Jason Hogle -- Jefferson; Sandi Smith and her son, Chance -- Stanley, Louisiana;
Dennis & Jennifer Scott -- Tyler; Diane Jones -- Jonesville, Texas; Gary Endsley -- Atlanta, Texas; Dale & Diana Freeman -- Jefferson.  From the Karnack Elementary School:  Caleb Curry; Tabitha Brunson; John Brunson; Chris Stafford; Eddie Hill; Dazmond Lewis; Tristan Bartley; Emily Curry; Will Hudson.  From a Longview Boy Scout Troop:  Paul Kaster; Chris Chapman; Todd Harkins; Jeremiah Harkins; Trey Hill; Sterling Larson; Robert Hall; Tyler Smith; Jonathan Weidler; Keylan Cook; David Abry; Richard Smith; Tyler Chapman.
 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 30 F and the afternoon high was 60 F.  The weather was clear to partly cloudy with a little wind.


Number of Nets:  Ten (10)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 9:00 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:15 p.m.
