Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, February 25, 2017:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Mike Weber of Jefferson; Matt & Beth Honea of DeBerry, Texas; Nathaniel Honea of Tyler; David & Vicki Gilliland of Jefferson; Charles Steger of Atlanta, Texas; and Dorothy and Matthew Metzler of Longview.

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 31 F and the afternoon high was 53 F.  The sky was clear and sunny, with a breeze from the north. 


Number of Nets:  Twelve (12)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 8:15 a.m. and all nets were closed by 5:15 p.m.
