Saturday, March 30, 2013:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Beth Honea and her son, Nat -- DeBerry, Texas; Sandra Hooker -- Marshall; Gary Pesowski -- Toronto, Ontario; Ann Derby -- Sugar Land, Texas; Barbara Hudson -- Dallas; Carole Ann Boyd -- Dallas; Kay Dunaway -- Silsbee, Texas; Jodie & Christine Trusty and their grandchildren, Kyle and Raven -- Linden, Texas; Rebekah Santana -- Center, Texas; Ruth Santana -- Center; Jay James and family -- Rockwall, Texas; Carolyn & Ron Bova -- Quitman; Keith & Karen Morris and daughter, Katherine -- Jefferson.

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 57º F and the afternoon high was 73º F.  The wind was calm except when rain came.  Prior to banding, it had rained 0.4".  The sky was cloudy.

Number of Nets:  Twelve (12)

Time:  We started late after waiting for a rain system to clear out, and we ended very early because of approaching rain.  We began putting up the nets at 10:15 a.m. and they were all closed by 1:30 p.m.

Next Banding Date:  The next bird banding dates planned are Saturday, April 20, and Saturday, May 4.  After May 4 we will begin our summer recess.  We will resume banding again in the fall.  Watch our bird-banding home page or check with Tom Walker for the latest information [E-mail: twalkercaddolake(at)gmail(dot)com].
