Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, November 2, 2013:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Sandra Hooker of Marshall; Steve & Susan Sedberry of Karnack; John & Cindy Bartos of Houston; Lili Baily of San Antonio; Grace Christmas of Karnack; Theodore Prickett of Carthage (Panola College student); Joanna Martel of Carthage (Panola College student); Kasey Kindley and her infant son Alexander of Carthage (Panola College student); Sheila Ritter of Carthage (Panola College staff member); and

Becky Gullette of Carthage (Panola College faculty member).

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 47 F and the afternoon high was 68 F It was cloudy, and it was breezy in the morning, but the wind mostly subsided by afternoon.  


Number of Nets:  Ten (10)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 9:25 a.m., and all nets were closed by 4:30 pm.
