Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, October 15, 2016:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Sandra Hooker of Marshall; Vicki Gilliland of Jefferson; Beth Honea and sons Nat & Matt of DeBerry; Mike Weber of Jefferson; Ellen Morris of Linden; Sheila Ritter of Carthage; Kay Watson of Linden; Todd & Rayla Dickinson of Jonesville; Pablo Valdez of Center; Roger Geiger of Avinger; Kristi Thomas of Jefferson; Kyle Lambright of Marshall; Pete & Jill Wright of Marshall.


Weather Conditions:  A couple of days earlier it had rained 1.7 inches, so the ground was wet. The temperature was mild and pleasant.

Number of Nets:  Seven (7)


Time:  We started setting up nets at 8:45 a.m. and all nets were closed by 2:45 p.m.
